Important message to all Parents

8th Oct 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

We are delighted to see our children and young people settling back into a new school year after the Summer break. All classes are working hard to fully implement the Curriculum, allowing pupils to feel safe and secure learning in school. Well done to both staff and parents for working together in partnership to support the smooth transition back to school.

You may be aware from local and national media that contingency plans will be considered by our Government in the event of increased cases of Covid-19 within our community throughout the Winter period. It is important that you are aware of the ongoing staffing pressure that school is experiencing due to Covid-19 related issues and absences.

We will continue to work as a school community to manage safe staffing levels within classes, however, there may be occasions when this is not possible, and may result in some classes having to be closed temporarily. It may also be the case that the school is directed to close a class by PHA due to a Covid-19 risk assessment.

We will endeavour to provide as much notice to parents as possible should the need for class closures occur.

We will make every effort to keep any potential class closure to a minimum, but we ask for your continued support and understanding as we adhere to DE, EA and PHA guidance, which is changing on a regular basis. To date, we have avoided class closures due to staffing levels however we continue to operate during times of uncertainty and unpredictability so it is important to plan ahead for such.

Please be aware that the School community is currently facing challenges in this area.

We will continue to keep you updated and informed throughout the term as guidance is reviewed, updated and issues arise.

Thank you as always for your understanding.

Stay safe and well

Jonathan
